The project is financed by the General Consulate of the Federal Republic of Germany in Donetsk / Dnipro office.

The project is designed for July – December 2020.

Target regions: Dnipropetrovsk, Donets, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia.

Project partners: Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, post-graduate pedagogical institutes and departments of education of target regions.

Aim: to develop resiliency skills of adolescence necessary to protect themselves from sexual abuse, sexual exportation and human trafficking.

Activities:

  • Conduction of trainings for professionals (methodology specialists and lecturers of postgraduate pedagogical education institutes, methodology specialists of local scientific and methodological centres, psychologists, educators);
  • Sharing gained knowledge and skills among educators;
  • Printing of informational and educational materials for specialists for conduction of activities with children on sexual abuse prevention issues;
  • Developing and printing sets of materials (smart quest box) for interactive games and classes.
  • Conduction of interactive games and classes on safe behaviour issues for teenagers.

The project results:

  • 189 educators (teachers, school psychologists, social pedagogues, methodological specialists) were trained with methodological features of conducting interactive sessions with children of 10-18 years old dedicated to the topic of child sexual abuse and sexual exploitation prevention through safe behavior skills development;
  • 1125 pedagogues in four target regions were acknowledged with available materials for organizing child sexual abuse prevention work in secondary schools;
  • 1332 teens obtained safety behavior rules during interactive games and sessions organized by trained educators;
  • tentatively at least 10000 children participated in the interactive prevention sessions thanks to manuals and sets of materials (smart-box) distributed among secondary schools of target oblasts;
  • thanks to the trained educators 297 parents updated knowledge and prevalence of the issue of child sexual abuse and learned about ways to prevent child sexual abuse, in particular by developing safe behavior skills.
