The project is implemented in seven countries: Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, and Ukraine
Partners of the project:
- Nobody's children Foundation (Poland);
- Ministry of Ukraine for Family, Youth and Sports;
- State Social Service for family, children and youth
Aim: To improve the professional competence of specialists who work with children who suffered from violence, and also shape public attitudes towards the problem of child abuse.
Activities in 2009:

Trainings for the professionals on problem of child abuse in institutions;

Local supervision for social workers on the prevention of child abuse in institutions;

International supervision in order to exchange experiences of work in the sphere of prevention of child abuse;

Conducting research among teachers to identify their attitudes towards the problem of child abuse;

National survey on public attitudes to physical violence against children;
-
Conducting assessment of the project for the entire period of implementation.
Project objectives:

Improvement of the public awareness on prevention of child abuse;

Change of attitude of parents and persons who substitute them towards the problem of upbringing and protection of children;

Diagnosis of the attitude, knowledge and skills of professionals working with children who suffered the abuse;

Improvement of the professional competence of specialists who work with children who suffered the abuse, by conducting trainings, supervisions, study visits, researches, publications on the topic;

Working out regional standards and solutions of the problems of child abuse, on a basis of the adopted policies;
-
Lobbying for changes to legislation that will ensure the effective operation of the system of protection of children.
